Three layouts: Primrose (L) Primrose Garden (center) Worms on Parade (R) Flower inspired quilt patterns have been with us since the beginning of quiltmaking. Many date back to over a hundred years ago. And just as flowers have always been a favorite subject of quilters, so has the primrose been a favorite of flower enthusiasts. Using Quiltsmart printed fusible interfacing, this quilt can become a reality, not just a dream. Appliqué work can be a scary thought to quilters. Traditionally, appliquéing flowers to a background could take hours and hours. That is something most of us are short of these days. Quiltsmart has taken all of the “fear factor” out of appliqué work. I replaced the curved piecing with appliqué. Quiltsmart replaced the tediousness with simplicity. With this method, even a beginner can achieve perfect results the first time. So go ahead. Make yourself a Primrose that doesn’t wither away, but one that lasts forever. Quiltsmart’s printed interfacing makes fun out of work, that is appliqué work!
Primrose printed interfacing
Background blocks are made from half-square triangles
Flower petal appliqués - pin interfacing to a pair of strips, stitch on solid lines, trim on dashed lines, turn right side out.
Fuse appliqués to background squares
Assemble blocks With this method there is no need to thread up your hand sewing needles or get out your thimble. All your edges will be turned under in no time and all can be sewn by machine. There are three great layouts; Primrose, Primrose Garden, and Worms on Parade. The interfacing is sold in kits by the size of the quilt. Couldn’t be easier! Visit the online store for details.
